- Keta, K, Kate, Special K, Vitamin K-
Dissociative (coordination and sensations fall apart), antidepressant,
analgesic (pain relieving), narcotic (anesthetic).
White to yellowish crystalline powder or clear solution
Snorted as a powder, swallowed as a solution, or injected (primarily intramuscular [i.m.], less commonly intravenous [i.v.]).
K comes in two forms: "Normal" (50:50 R-&S-)Ketamine and S-Ketamine.
S-ketamine only needs to be dosed about half as much as "normal" ketamine!
There are numerous ketamine-analogous substances, e.g. PCP ("Angel Dust"), fluoroketamine (2-FDCK), tiletamine, 3-MeO-PCP and methoxetamine (MXE, "Metha-Keta"). Some of these have additional (side) effects, are more potent and have a longer effect than ketamine. Always find out as precisely as possible what the drug is!
Takes effect after approximately 5-15 min (nasal), 2-4 min (i.m.), or 5-20 min (oral).
Takes approx. 45-60 min (nasal), 30-60 min (i.m.) or approx. 90 min (oral).
Detectability: several hours, up to 4 days (urine)
Dose-dependent mild to very severe changes in perception and physical sensation with dream-like, fragmentary hallucinations possible.
In "K-Hole" (at high dosage) also the feeling of stepping out of the body (ego delimitation/dissolution).
As the dose increases, the senses of taste and smell are eliminated, it becomes difficult to speak, and immobility occurs.
At very high doses, unconsciousness that usually lasts about 45 minutes.
Side effects: Visual disturbances, dizziness, impaired memory, balance and coordination, inability to move, impaired reactions (risk of injury!); disturbance of motor function (also of the mouth and throat, swallowing reflex with increased salivation) nausea/vomiting; increased pulse, blood, intracranial and intraocular pressure; motor restlessness and anxiety may occur.
In case of overdose, sudden unconsciousness (if eyes are open, risk of drying of eyes), paralysis, seizures, cardiac arrhythmia and coma possible.
Ketamine relaxes the bronchial muscles, thus respiratory arrest also occurs.
Special risks in case of: hypertension, cardiac disorders, glaucoma, epilepsy, hyperthyroidism, angina pectoris; psychosis experience.
Possible complications: at particularly high doses and mixed use with other downers: risk of respiratory paralysis. With frequent use development of tolerance, dependence possible!
When mixed with stimulants, the stressful side effects for the cardiovascular system increase.
After-effects: Feeling of dizziness and weakness, drowsiness, possibly memory loss.
Possible long-term effects: Kidney, brain and nerve damage; memory lapses, psychosis possible; incontinence and pain when peeing possible (have it checked by a doctor immediately so it doesn't get worse!).
Consume only in safe places and with people you trust. Keep sources of danger away. It's best to stay sober with someone who can help you in an emergency.
Get as smart as you can about your substance. Use drug checking when possible.
Avoid confusion with other substances (e.g. speed), clearly label different packets. Always test a smaller amount and wait at least 90 minutes.
Ketamine nasal can be effective from a dose of approx. 0.2 mg per kg body weight (corresponds to approx. 12 mg at 60 kg). At approx. 1.5 mg (90mg at 60 kg body weight) to 2.0 mg/kg, a full dose may be reached with corresponding side effects and risks.
But: Everyone reacts individually differently, always dose carefully! Injected must be dosed significantly lower!
Those who have not used or rarely used need a much lower dose than heavy users!
Observe the safer use rules for sniffing and injecting!
Extreme caution when dosing and mixing with other downers (alcohol, GHB/GBL and other painkillers and sedatives)! Very careful mixed use with stimulants!
Due to the anesthesia, be careful when moving and standing up (risk of accident) and when consuming food and beverages (risk of burns, swallowing, choking!).
Take breaks - do not consume again until a long distance has elapsed.
