⫸ Upper (stimulant)
White, beige, or yellowish powder or paste. Less commonly, pill.
Amphetamine (Speed)
⫸ Synthetic stimulant that is usually spiked with lactose, often additionally with other psychoactive substances such as caffeine or ephedrine.
⫸ Usually snorted, but can also be swallowed or injected.
⫸ Effective after approx. 2-10 min (nasal) or approx. 30-60 min (oral).
⫸ Lasts individually different and dose-dependent, usually approx. 4-6 hours (possibly also significantly longer)
⫸ Detectability: up to 48 hours (blood), up to 1 week (urine)
Â
⫸ Speed releases dopamine and norepinephrine, which put the body in a state of emergency ("fight or flight"). Basic needs such as eating, drinking, and sleeping are ignored, resulting in increased performance. In the process, the body's energy reserves are depleted.
⫸ S ide effects: dilated pupils, dry mouth, increased blood sugar, nausea, headache; palpitations, increase in blood pressure, rise in body temperature, sweating; convulsions, jaw grinding; abdominal and joint pain, restlessness, increased aggressiveness, and increased risk-taking possible.
Â
⫸ S pecial risks: The effect of alcohol is no longer perceived as strongly (risk of intoxication); mixing with other stimulants and cannabis places a particularly heavy burden on the circulation; people with glaucoma, cardiovascular problems, epilepsy, and psychological susceptibilities bear an increased risk.
⫸ Possible complications: Hallucinations, (especially after long periods of wakefulness), acute psychosis; cardiovascular failure, strokes possible.
⫸ Af ter-effects: Exhaustion, great need for sleep; depressed mood, irritability, ravenous appetite.
⫸ Possible long-term effects: Damage to the nasal mucosa, skin inflammation, sleep disorders, weight loss, weakening of the immune system due to lack of sleep and insufficient vitamin and mineral intake, high blood pressure, paranoia/psychosis, dependence.
Â
⫸ Think about how long you want to be awake beforehand. Calculate when you want to consume the last time.
⫸ Since speed is mostly cut, it is difficult to give dosage information. Dosages of about 40 mg or more are considered strong, but even dosages of less than 25 mg of pure amphetamine can prove problematic.
⫸ Use drug checking if possible. If this is not available to you, swallow the smallest possible finely chopped amount, wait at least 90 min, and approach the effective dose in small steps.
⫸ Sniff: Crush the powder as well as possible. Do not split your tube (risk of infection). Care for your mucous membranes with saline solution and nasal ointment.
Â
⫸ Oral: It is better to take speed in a capsule or paper to protect your nose. Then it will take effect much later - wait enough!
⫸ Drink sufficient water and juice spritzer (not excessively! Guideline: 0.5 liters per hour). Avoid alcohol, limit it at least to small amounts.
⫸ Chewing gum during tooth grinding and "chewing lash".
⫸ Avoid cramps and overheating: take regular breaks, cool down.
Â
⫸ Chill out for a while in a pleasant, relaxed place. Sleep and eat enough to replenish your reserves.
⫸ Find out about dangerous interactions with medications you are taking.
⫸ No speed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Â
