TOM
White to yellow-ish powder or clear in liquid form.
Dissociative (distorted sensory perceptions and co-ordination), anti-depressive, analgesic (pain relieving), narcotic (anaesthetic).
Snorted in powder form, swallowed in liquid form or injected (usually intra-muscular [i.m.], less often intravenous [i.v.]).
⫸ Keta comes in two types: ‘’normal’’ (50:50 R-&S-) Ketamine, and S-Ketamine. S-Ketamine should be dosed at half that of ‘’normal’’ K! There are numerous substances similar to ketamine, e.g. PCP (‘angel dust’), Fluoroketamine (2-FDCK), Tiletamine, 3-MeO-PCP and Methoxetamine (MXE or ’Meta-Keta’). They can have additional (side-)effects, are more potent and have a longer effect than Ketamine. Always find out exactly what it is!
⫸ EFFECT
kicks in after around 5-15 mins (nasal), 2-4 mins (i.m.) or 5-20 mins (oral)
⫸ DURATION
last around 45-60 mins (nasal), 30-60 mins (i.m.) or 90 mins (oral).
DEPENDING ON THE DOSE, SLIGHT TO VERY STRONG CHANGES IN PERCEPTION AND PHYSICAL SENSATION WITH DREAM-LIKE, FRAGMENTARY HALLUCINATIONS POSSIBLE.
IN THE "K-HOLE" ALSO THE FEELING OF STEPPING OUT OF THE BODY (EGO DISSOCIATION/DISSOLUTION). AS THE DOSE INCREASES, THE SENSE OF TASTE AND SMELL IS ELIMINATED, IT IS DIFFICULT TO SPEAK AND MOVEMENT BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE. AT VERY HIGH DOSES, UNCONSCIOUSNESS (USUALLY LASTS ABOUT 45 MINUTES).
⫸SIDE EFFECTS
Visual disturbances, dizziness, memory problems, problems with co-ordination and balance, immobility, limited reaction response (dangerous for causing injuries!); motor problems (also in the mouth/throat, swallowing reflex can be impaired), nausea/vomiting; fast pulse, high blood, brain and inner eye pressure. Anxiety and physical agitation can also occur.
In case of an overdose: sudden collapse (if eyes are open, danger of the eyes drying out), paralysis, seizures, cardiovascular problems. Falling into a coma is also possible. Respiratory arrest can also occur, as Ketamine relaxes the bronchial muscles.
⫸ POSSIBLE LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES
Kidney/brain/nerve damage; memory lapses, psychosis; incontinence, pain when peeing (get checked by doctor immediately!).
⫸ POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS
With particularly high doses and/or mixing with other ‘downers’: danger of respiratory paralysis. Danger of developing a tolerance with regular use, and addiction to Ketamine is also possible! Mixing with ‘uppers’ leads to an increased strain and negative side effects in the cardio-vascular system.
⫸PARTICULARLY RISKY FOR
those with high blood pressure, heart problems, glaucoma, epilepsy, hyperthyroidism, angina pectoris, previous episodes of psychosis.
Ketamine (taken nasally) can already have an effect with a dose of around 0.2 mg per kg in body weight (so with a weight of 60kg, around 12mg). A dose of 1.5-2 mg per kg in body weight, would equate to a full dose with the accordant risks and side effects. But: everyone reacts differently, always dose carefully! If injecting, dose much lower!
Those who are new to Ketamine or haven’t taken it for a while need a much lower dose than those who are regularly using. Pay attention to the safer use rules for snorting and injecting! Be extremely careful dosing if mixing with other downers (alcohol, GHB/GBL and other pain killers or sedatives)! Also be very careful if mixing with uppers! Be careful when moving and getting up, the anaesthetic effect of keta can cause accidents. Also take care if eating or drinking – danger of burning yourself, swallowing wrong or choking! Make sure to take breaks and wait a while before taking the next dose.
Inform yourself as much as possible about your supply. Use drug checking if available. Make sure not to confuse it for other substances (eg. Speed, Coke), mark the bags! Always test a small amount first and wait around 90 mins to check the effect.
